Aluminium 5754 is an Al-Mg wrought alloy, made up of about 2.6–3.6% magnesium, ≤0.5% manganese, ≤0.4% silicon, ≤0.4% iron, ≤0.3% chromium, with the rest being aluminium. This alloy isn’t heat-treatable, but its strength is boosted through cold working. The mechanical properties differ by temper: tensile strength ranges from 190–290 MPa, yield strength from 130–245 MPa, elongation is around 10–20%, and Brinell hardness falls between 60–85 HB. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and atmospheric conditions, along with great weldability and moderate strength.
